Drag items to new track, preserving positions

Can anyone tell me the correct way to: 1. Select all items on a track 2. Move those items to a new track, preserving each items' start time (I have a mix on a new track that I want to use) I know it's easy, just haven't found it yet. Thanks!

Just drag them vertical and the position won't change!

Double click on your track to select all items, go to main menu Action->Show action list... and look for Item Edit: Move items down one track, run it.

A couple of different ideas. Since you want everything on the track, right click on the header in the track control panel and choose "duplicate Selected Track". This will create a new track with everything you had on the original. OR you can create a new track, select the items that you want to move, and then with the numloc turned on use the down arrow (key#2) on your keypad and it will move your items in their relative position to the new track.

I think this will do it: Options>Locking Settings... Check Locking Enabled. Check Items (Prevent Left/Right Movement). Then you can drag them vertically but not horizontally. Is that what you are looking for???

audioguytodd yeah -that could do it too. i seldom have to move items left/right so i might as well lock them in place, right?
